Good. That means the cpu, cache, ram, video interface, and bus
interconnects are all ok.
When i checked the system profiler, the system cannot see the IDE
bus at all for some strange reason.
Not strange. That's the fairly definitive clue that the bus died.
If you boot in verbose mode (cmd-V held down) you might see some
error logging that indicates the failure of the bus to
auto-configure. (or might not see, depends on the actual type of
fault).
