I'm having a problem with my iMac G5 and playing video (.avi files).
Used to play them just fine, but recently, without warning, the
video pauses (the two vertical bars) and the machine goes into sleep
mode. The farther I get into a video file the closer together the
pause/sleep episodes get. Kinda seems like a heat issue, but I'm not
sure.
Does the problem occur if you play the video with a different player
app? With non-avi's?
How's the temp in the room? Are the mac's fans runnin?
...Are there temp sensors in that Mac? If so, use something like
iStat Menus to monitor CPU use and temps.
