Well, the bad news is that it looks like in my case it's the PAV board,
which seems to be the cause of many a G3 iMac's demise. Since I'm not
comfortable dealing with high voltages, and this machine is getting a
bit too slow, I suspect it's going to be farewell ;-(
I've got a dead G4 Mac mini (motherboard), and display-less G3 MacBook
(ditto) so my only working PPC Mac is my first Mac....a 1999 B&W G3 that
is now booting from the iMac's drive and performing it's jobs....even
more slowly....while I decide what to do next.
