that they are both trees or shrubs with showy flowers, but they have some
differences in their leaves, fruits, and seeds:

   - *Leaves*: *Thespesia populnea* has heart-shaped leaves that are shiny
   and alternate, while *Thespesia populneoides* has spirally arranged
   leaves that are light green and triangular heart-shaped.
   - *Fruits*: *Thespesia populnea* has mature fruits that are easily
   broken, while *Thespesia populneoides* has mature fruits that are not
   broken (outer fruit splitting into 5 segments, exposing indehiscent inner
