Comment from Dr Panda Dear Mohina It is Rhododendron falconeri (Ericaceae). Pl. take it as confirrmed id. as I already studied. Actually its area of distribution in Darjeeling Himlaya starts from Tonglu and up to Gairibans, Dodhrey-Tonglu Rd, Tumling-Gairibans rd. Now the species is not common at all. Dr. S. Panda
