So sejauh mana adaptability nya? My two cents: 1. Shield to protect any weapons that works by analyzing type of energy (phaser/ray gun), speed and effect on impact (bullet and other projectiles and sharp or blunt objects) dll dsb. The shield will adapt, but the speed of adaptation depends on the weapons used. For example it is easier to adapt from a sword strike rather than energy burst on certain frequency. 2. Organic component of the borg is not only what makes them great, but also a weakness. It can only function so far as any organic material functions. I have had this idea too after watching First Contact and was planning to write my own fanfic about it. However, the scenario of spreading organic virus is not effective as their shield will also adapt to any means of virus distribution. For example: a. airborne virus (in gaseous form or through gas/air): distribution will be blocked by the shield once it is adapted. If you argued that the organic part of the borg needs oxygen to stay functional, then the borg could go to sleep and their need of O2 or any other gas would be fed through the tubes; while the ship could safely vacuum the virus out of the ship. b. virus distribution through water or bodily fluids: ineffective because borg does not require water in the form commonly consume by humanoids. They seem to get their water and supplements for their organic part while they were 'sleeping' thus the borg ship must have somehow recycled and processed the water into the form of liquid that is able to maintain the organic part to stay functional. so tell me how can u distribute the virus into a borg ship?? If you have more ideas on how to distribute the virus, I'll be glad to hear it. In fact, I will put it in my fan fic, of course with your permission. I've thought of too many scenarios (that doesn't work for my stories) on how to send deadly virus to a borg ship. ha ha ha... and finally, I become too lazy to write it down, however it sat conveniently still at the back of my mind for years. 3. Knowledge of the races that have been assimilated. If they assimilate RAYMOND or FRIENDS, I can guarantee their shield would not get to work 24/7... paling lama juga 10 menit udah drop. heeeeh...
