I'm trying to set up a dual boot WinXP and SXDE:

On a Dell Latitude D620 (bios A9), I ran the install from DVD, which got as far
as grub, checking the hardware, then the visual menu and choosing an
upgrade/fresh install, which partition etc..
Since I only have the Dell partition and a windows xp partition, I then backed
out and used partition magic to create a 20g partition on which to install SXDE.

However when I run the installation from DVD this time, I can go past the grub
menu but I now get ata warnings and errors:

warning /pci at 0,0/pci-ide at 1f,2/ide at 0(ata0): timeout: abort request,
target=0 lun=0

(a number of similar ones like this and then a couple of ones like):

Error for command 'read sector' Error level: informational
Sense key: aborted command
Vendor 'Gen-ATA' error code:0x3

Out of 3 attempts, it either repeated the errors/warnings or once, kept ringing
the system bell for about 20 seconds and then looked like it was loading (the |
spinny thing was spinning :), but never did anything else...

Any idea's on how to fix this?
