Hans, It is a good idea to update InterMapper and InterMapper RemoteAccess to the latest version (4.6.9). In the interim, you should increase the amount of memory available to the client, as described in this Knowledge Base article:

Does your main map have any background images? Background images use more memory. You can also try adjusting the Animation speed in the Preferences to see if that helps.
