As far as the FreeBSD ports (the package generation system) goes,
I am the FreeBSD maintainer for ioq3.

I don't think there are any core ioq3 developers running FreeBSD.

That's my system (uname -a):
FreeBSD mobileKamikaze.norad 9.2-PRERELEASE FreeBSD 9.2-PRERELEASE #0 r253413:
Wed Jul 17 13:12:46 CEST 2013
root@mobileKamikaze.norad:/usr/obj/HP6510b-91/amd64/usr/src/sys/HP6510b-91
amd64

Compilers I use for testing:

FreeBSD clang version 3.3 (tags/RELEASE_33/final 183502) 20130610
Target: x86_64-unknown-freebsd9.2
Thread model: posix

cc (GCC) 4.2.1 20070831 patched [FreeBSD]

gcc47 (FreeBSD Ports Collection) 4.7.4 20130706 (prerelease)
