I remember hearing them often when living in Michigan in the 1970s and I have one of their QSL cards.
Only tentative on Ecuador on splits, 995 rings a bell. I did hear Brazil on 1180 one Sunday morning during the WHAM SP but didn't send a report (wish I did). Lots of Venezuelans and Colombians heard, Surinam too. Too bad these digitally tuned radios put the split frequency stations onto even frequencies.
