Knowledge and experience with Oracle 10g, 11i and higher . Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. . Expert at optimizing the performance of Structured Query Language (SQL) query and non-query commands. . Knowledge of and experience in Enterprise SAN technology . Experience with UNIX based Operating Systems. Responsibilities . Monitors system/application performance and provide suggestion for system performance improvement to ensure optimal system/application performance. . Fine tuning and optimizing database performance and throughput for high volume applications. . Optimizing the performance of Structured Query Language (SQL) query and non-query commands. . Creating, maintaining and optimizing database objects like indexes, triggers, views, stored procedures, catalogs etc. . Assist with resolution of Production issues. . Advanced administration of AIX based Oracle database systems . Design and implementing database clustering and replication to ensure high availability. . Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned . Interacting with client, functional experts and developers to understand the system requirements. . Assist with architecting and designing the data models and database schemas based on the requirements. . Review, developing and managing database administration and operational procedures . Review, develop and implement proper security procedures . Review, developing and implementing standards and procedures for database development, administration and deployment. . Review, developing, managing backup and recovery plans.
