Job Title: Java Technical Lead Developer Location: Windsor, CT Duration: 6+ Months Client is looking for a Java Technical Lead to sit in Windsor, CT. Candidates must have 401K or Fund Trading platform experience. Qualifications: Proven ability to motivate, influence and interact effectively with peers, IT & Business leaders Superior decision making and client relationship building skills Proven ability to manage resources in multiple locations within an onshore/offshore staffing model. Balance multiple tasks meeting set goals and deadlines. Extensive J2EE development experience for web-based applications, J2EE certification desired. Solid understanding of application development for JBoss Application Server platform. Experience with: Clear Case, JSP, Ajax, Struts, Java based Web Services, Linux Proven experience coding and tuning SQL queries and stored procedures for UDB and Sybase. Experience developing applications using SDLC methodologies. Desire prior experience with Financial Services applications especially 401k/403b plan administration, security pricing and trading. Responsibilities: Determine technology roadmap for application suite Gain a balanced awareness of the business needs and tie that with technology through the creation of a technical roadmap to meet and exceed business' expectations. Drive the implementation of the technology plan and articulate how it benefits the business. Manage architectural blueprints/diagrams. Manage lifecycle and upgrades of third party and infrastructure software. Engage with developer team Develop/assist in creation of design documents for new functionality enforcing standards of design and architecture including adoption of CCF framework, support of browsers, Web Services standards, etc. Mentor and train developers Communicate and propagate standards. Engage with SAS and Infrastructure teams Engage with SAS and Infrastructure to understand the operational needs of the application (DR, High Availability, Security, monitoring, etc.) and ensure that the technology roadmap aligns with IT's requirements. Coordinate implementation of any enterprise-wide initiatives. Engage with BA/BSA teams Assist in reviewing requirements documents and ensure completeness. Gain an understanding of the functional roadmaps of the application and create technical roadmaps to align with the business needs. Articulate the benefit of technical items to gain the business' support and obtain the needed investment in technology.
