Wrong guess. This is something much more than just a simple memory stick. In reality, the device is a magical gadget never witnessed before. It allows laptop users to keep hooked up to the Web wherever they are _ on the road, in the subway or even on a bullet train. In other word, the USB-type dongle is a modem, which connects computers to the next-generation wireless network, called high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA). To the amusement of Korean clients, two kinds of HSDPA-enabled portable Internet services are currently offered by the country's two wireless operators SK Telecom and KTF. Business bellwether SK Telecom first launched its service last September with a commercial title of T-Login and runner-up player KTF followed suit last month with iPlug. Each company contends that its services are better than its rival and it remains to be seen which side will take the driver's seat in the two-way competition. But experts predict the competition will drive down service prices while attracting more and more subscribers to the mobility-specific offerings.
