You need to use the metadata.js plug-in to read attribute data. Also, by default the Validator plug-in will only look in the class attribute for the validation rules. To get it to read a custom attribute, you need to configure the metadata plug-in: $.meta.setType("attr", "validate"); All of this can be found on this example: http://jquery.bassistance.de/validate/demo-test/radio-checkbox-select-demo.h tml Just remember to pay attention to all of the files included. The only JS file you shouldn't need is cmxforms.js--unless you plan on using that plug-in for form data. -Dan
