The 10Gbps uplink module (EX-UM-2XFP) does not share the same ASIC as the last 4 built-in ports on this platform. As such, you don't get taxed. As we've seen, the 1Gbps uplink module (EX-UM-4SFP) shares the same ASIC as the last 4 built-in ports, hence, the tax. > And is this behavior the same on the 4200? No, it only affects the EX3200. The same goes for if you install SFP+ uplink modules (EX- UM-4SFP) and run them in 1Gbps mode. We've asked our SE to ask Juniper to fix this by having a 1Gbps uplink module that implements its own ASIC.
