10g WAN-PHY helps, but isn't actually enough. Some long-haul applications require actual Sonet (well, usually SDH). Fortunately those are few enough that a lack of density compared to 10g ethernet isn't a massive issue. -- Julien Goodwin Studio442 "Blue Sky Solutioneering"
