I can confirm this for the 5.2.9 appimage.
If the document colour profile is Greyscale and the Display Mode is set to Mask
instead of Ants and the selection mask is selected in the Layers Docker, the
mask overlay is shown as greyscale instead of the colour that has been selected
in the Settings: Display: Canvas Decorations.
If image layers are selected, the mask overlay is shown as the selected colour.
With a document colour profile of RGB, the mask overlay is shown in colour on
all layers.
Setting to CONFIRMED.
