Bug ID: 518498
Summary: Neither disabling nor deinstalling Krohnkite and
UltrawideWindows revert tiling to previous state
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First unspecified

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR

Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Neither disabling nor deinstalling Krohnkite and UltrawideWindows revert tiling
to previous state
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install kwin script Kronkite. There is no window tiling currently active
prior to installation.
2. Install kwin script UltrawideWindows
3. In KDE systemsettings, enable either combination of both (as I do not have
an idea of how either of them affects window tiling).
4. Experiment a bit with window tiling.
5. You will find that there are applications that are rather unsutable for an
immediate maximizing its window on a wide screen, as this leaves a lot of
totally unused white space. This is inefficient and also bad for the eyes if
the whole area is mostly plain bright white (such as in betterview mail). So to
stop this behaviour, disable both Krohnkite and UltrawideWindow kwin scripts in
kwin settings (only disable, do not deinstall yet).
OBSERVED RESULT
5. Applications are still maximized to full window size even if no tiling is
currently active nor has tiling been enabled before either of Krohkite and
UltrawideWindow were installed.
EXPECTED RESULT
5. Krohnkite and UltrawideWindow are disabled in system settings, so it should
be possible to resize the window of any application, especially if it is the
only application currently running, to a window size as per user taste.
