Summary: Composer gives no indication when editing in overwrite mode, rather than insert mode Product: kmail Version: unspecified Platform: Debian testing OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: blhigg...@gmail.com Version: (using KDE 4.3.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Most editing programs and widgets indicate whether editing is being performed in insert or overwrite mode. Usually, a line-shaped text cursor indicates insert mode, and a box-shaped cursor indicates overwrite mode. But the KMail Composer only ever has a line-shaped cursor. (Some programs also have an indication in the status bar, but KMail does not have that, either.) A number of times I've gone to add words in the middle of an email and after typing out a sentence realise that I've accidentally hit the "Insert" key and overwritten a bunch of text. It just occurred to me why I never seem to notice before I start typing: because KMail won't tell me what editing mode I'm in like other programs will. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
