On the contrary, now is probably the best time to change the revision control system with regards to minimizing pain. Although it has been done, I imagine a larger project would have greater difficulty overcoming the political and logistical problems. Every troll and his dog would be coming out of the woodwork to pander their favourite RCS, and the idea that a civilized discussion could be had would be laughable.

However, I definitely agree that it makes the most sense to choose one and go with it.


I'd question even changing revision control system at all. I don't think that for porject with less than 10 active committers and with less than 10 commits per day (average) any version control system is in the way.
