Something as simple as the default expectation that the primary search from the
main search bar from the home page doesn't fit all libraries. Special/research
libraries often perform more 'search catalog' searches than doing a checkout
search, so they are either always selecting the correct search tab, or we
jquery a fix for that, which is prone to breaking at upgrades.
