Someone asked me what was happening at the Victoria and Albert museum on June 22.
The thing going on at V&A is just ME...in town and looking at lace. I would like to meet any other lacemakers in town that day at the museum to see the current lace display and/or have lunch in the lunchroom there. It's been 10 years since I was in town, and the lace display has been completely redone since then. It's the only day I have available to see the museum. I plan to be at the museum when it opens at 10am, and go to the lace room. At 12 noon, or just before noon, move to the museum cafe for lunch, then continue looking at lace until I'm overloaded. I'd love to have any of you join me for lace viewing and/or lunch. Ten years ago, a group of Arachneans did this before the Arachne 98 Conference. Of course, there were a lot of us in town just before going to Nottingham. We had a group of 22 people at lunch and lace viewing, both locals and conference people. I don't expect a huge crowd, but would love to meet whomever happens to be in London that day. It's a Sunday, by the way. If you have any expectation of being in London that weekend, please make a note to have lunch at the V&A. I would love to meet some of you.
