Absolutely agree making your own is great when you're only playing or
have a little extra time, but lots of times I need something to
get a client's job done and want something ready to rock.
I do like your ideas and will try making one of the smaller versions to see
how it works.
I have a couple face plates so that should work to try it.
Are your square holes tapered slightly?
