I'm just curious why there is an initial password fa**** with the "free"
version? It seems redundant.

To unlock the deluxe features it is not the password you need. You
have to enter your Version 5 Customer number. It should have been
provided when you bought the Deluxe version of Legacy 5.0.
To unlock the deluxe features go to Help > Unlock Legacy Deluxe
Input your name and your Customer Number and click the unlock button.
You must include the -'s as part of the number.
