STATE TERROR IN LACKAWANNA
The Lackawanna Discussion Group is calling on all concerned individuals, groups small and large, unions,churches, synagogues, mosques, community, social, environmental and political organizations to lend a hand by sending statements of support to the Lackawanna community. The community, especially those of Arab descent, continues to face unjust collective punishment by police forces and the media. They are guilty of no crime yet are being targeted as criminals, branded guilty as "supporters of terrorism" based solely on their being of Arab descent, or their religion, views or simply living in Lackawanna. High school youth and young children are being photographed by police and accosted by media, asked if they "support terrorism" and "like living with terrorists." Those in the community like all human beings have the right to their own beliefs. We ask that all stand together with the Lackawanna community so that none stands alone in defending the right to conscience and all rights of the people.
