Seems to be the same as bug 65018

User wants to write a technical book about FORTH programming language. He
describes the built-in "words" of FORTH and indexes them. These "words" are not
only written with letters or digits ; they may also use any symbol in ASCII.

They are indexed for easy reference.

But the Alphabetical Index lists them in an unexpected order, following no
identifiable pattern. Digits come first, then letters with upper- and lowercase
mixed (though "Case sensitive" was ticked -- apparently this only prevents
merging or identical case-differing terms), then symbols but anyway not in
ASCII or more generally Unicode order.

This is demonstrated in the attachment.

While it is understood that Alphabetical Index primarily targets words in some
human language, it is expected to also work with non-alphameric data. Sorting
separately numbers (or initial digit terms), common words and symbols is
acceptable as long as some specification states the design decision and gives a
clue about the ordering.

Note that select any language does not alter the ordering as far as alpha words
in the example do not show any locale dependency. Language has no effect on
symbols.

I am also surprised there is no "None"-language choice (same as for disabling
spell checking), which would default to Unicode.

By default, most (technical-minded) people expect Unicode ordering.
