Part of it is done by octly.sed, at 
http://www.openguitar.com/files/octly.txt
You only need one octave, and you could
add note substitution to it.

Using relative pitch, all you need is to
substitute the note names.  It will be
done, but you are welcome to beat me to
it.  :-)  DaveA
