Since you're using DirectOS, why not use the DirectOS dosSelectFile()
method? According to the docs on the web page it accepts a start folder as
one of its parameters.
BTW, I could be wrong, but I don't believe you need to use new(xtra
"DirectOS") for that Xtra.
