When running Director under Classic in Mac OSX i've found that any time
you query the neterror() of a network operation it will return "OK" in
all but the most obvious cases (ie a malformed URL still gives an
error). While trying to simulate network problems by pulling the
ethernet cable during a network operation in OS9/NT/98 etc while
authoring in Directorit reports the error - if i do the same in OSX it
will return "OK" almost regardless. Shockwave is unaffected and
continues to behave normally - I haven't explored projectors as my
current project doesn't run as a projector.
On a similar note it seems impossible to do network operations in
Authoring mode on a "https://"; address but it will work fine when
running as shockwave in the browser - does any body know if this is true
for Director 8.5?
