Unfortunately I couldn't find this discussion online, which makes it
impossible for me to consider the arguments against fixing this problem.
If the argument is "convenience for developers" please consider choosing
the counting mode either at compile time (CONFIG_HID_NO_COUNT or whatever)
or at the run time (modprobe hid options=nocount) with the safer behavior
being the default.
