Hi guys,

While attempting to connect my external CD writer (Iomega) through a generic PCMCIA USB 2.0 cardbus using the default kernel from RH8 (2.4.18) I got the following messages while booting :

usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
usb-ohci.c: unlink USB timeout
usb.c: unable to get device descriptor (error: -12)
hub.c: USB new device connect on bus3/1, assigned device number 2
usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
usb.c: USB device not accepting new address = 2 (error: -110)
hub.c: USB new device connect on bus 3/1, assigned device number 3

Further details on the setup can be found below or in my prior posting

Any help would be appreciated ...

Joe W.

I got a problem with the USB bus recently.
The problem was caused by the ACPI package.
This is an identified problem with Mandrake 9.0
See <http://mandrakeforum.com/article.php?sid=2459&lang=en>)

I hope for you this is the cause of your trouble.
