All,

I'm having a problem similar to that recently posted by Tet.

Here's the 'executive summary':

I buy an Olympus D-520 digital camera and later learn that it doesn't work
because Olympus did not adhere to the USB Storage standard. (c.f.
http://garcia.myxomop.com/cgi/wiki.pl?OlympusD520
http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdev.php?id=1233
http://home.earthlink.net/~ebrombaugh/d150.html)

So, I buy a SanDisk 6 in 1 Reader/Writer. This device appears to be
properly recognized by my Mandrake 8.2 system. But, when I plug in a SM
memory card and try to mount it, I get "mount: No medium found". Some guy
on alt.os.linux.mandrake thought that the linux USB Mass Storage driver
was unable to handle multi-format readers. That is, another type of card
in one of the other slots of the reader might be recognized.

The details of what I see on my system are given below.

Any ideas?

Duane

Here's what's written into /var/log/messages when I connect the
Sandisk (with SM card already inserted) to the USB bus:

What does that last line mean? (See lsmod output below.)

After several minutes, I see these additional lines:

Here's my lsmod output:
