This may be completely unrelated, but here's a quick data point: Back
in September, kernel 2.4.22, I was having problems with an Edgeport/4
I don't recall the driver, but it was whatever was "standard" in that
kernel for the Edgeport.  According to my notes, the RS-232 device I
was communicating with was sending back 256 bytes, but I was only able
to read the first 134 of them.  If I hooked the same device up to a
serial port on the back of the same machine (rather than using the
EdgePort), all 256 bytes arrived.  I think this was consistently
happening.  I never got around to debugging it further, though.
