If you're determined to distrust the enterprise based on knowledge of
shareholders, how much knowledge do you have of the SpiderOak corporation?

I haven't made this point in the conversation before, because it's
one-sided: On Mega's side, I know some of the people who are involved in
the development, operations and management of the company (and "know-of"
more), and in general I trust their judgements. So if Mega was "rotten" I'd
be very surprised to see so many people I respect working for them.

I know nothing about the employees of SpiderOak - the closest connection I
have are a handful of 2nd and 3rd degree contacts on LinkedIn, all of whom
come to me via Open Source related people. But LinkedIn is a good example
of the "web-of-distrust" - I don't know the criteria that other people use
when making their own contacts, and therefore "3rd" degree contacts are
basically anonymous.

I do agree that Kim Dotcom's public persona detracts from technical
ventures, but I have no reason to suspect that this makes them technically
untrustworthy.
