We are running 1.1.2. I'll update to 1.1.3 and we'll see if that solves the problem.

Which version of log4j is this? In my copy of log4j 1.1.3, line 260 cannot possibly
cause an exception. If you think you are running log4j 1.1.3, I suggest you double
check by looking into the manifest file of log4j.jar or just download a 1.1.3.
