did you set it to "800x600"  in lts.conf  ?

maybe you have to delete "1024x768" from XF86Config
or from the script that generates XF86Config on the fly.

I dont know xzoom

I guess the app wants to communicate with the X-Server via shared-memory, 
which is not possible over network. just a guess. 

try krfb  instead of x0rfbserver and tell us if it helped.
