Give it a domain name anyway - it needn't work anywhere except your network. Even server.mapp77.local will do.
/make sure/ your clients are all listed on the server in the /etc/hosts file, I hand out addresses from 172.20.1.64-172.20.1.255, and have this in my hosts file .. 172.20.1.64 dhcp64 172.20.1.65 dhcp65 172.20.1.66 dhcp66 172.20.1.67 dhcp67 172.20.1.68 dhcp68 172.20.1.69 dhcp69 172.20.1.70 dhcp70 172.20.1.71 dhcp71 172.20.1.72 dhcp72 172.20.1.73 dhcp73 ...
