If system hangs regularly occur while still downloading the kernel, this can
not have anything to do with the version of LTSP, or the content of the
kernel file, because that is not yet running. In fact, you could replace it
by any other file roughly the same size and that would probably not change
anything about the kernel load hangs, I guess.

I'd verify certain parts of the network. Can you boot with a crossover cable
(certain switch/network card combinations seem to not work ok), another tftp
daemon....? If you are using pxelinux (which you probably are), you could try
using etherboot instead (you'd have to setup dhcpd.conf accordingly, and get
an etherboot .zpxe file from rom-o-matic.net matching your t5515's network
chipset).

Might be pxe is a bit broken on those machines - I was told HP sent out whole
a bunch of ThinClients that needed a firmware upgrade before reliably working
as thin clients. Btw. you did already get the latest firmware, didn't you?

I don't own a t5515, just my $0.02.
