Adding NFSOPTS="-o nolock,ro,proto=tcp" to the NFS doesnt seem to solve the problem. I now see no dropped packets, but the booting still takes about 15 miutes for login to display.
I am starting to wonder though, if the problem is not with the Ubuntu initrd image itself and not networking. the iOpener seems to take a very long time detecting its own hardware each time it boots. Is there any way to avoid this? Could also be part of the problem?
