no, you can have local applications for a long time

just install it as a local application:
open a terminal and chroot to your /opt/ltsp/[whatever] directory, then instal 
the [EMAIL PROTECTED] software and exit the chroot
after that, don't forget to run
ltsp-update-sshkeys
and
ltsp-update-image
