I believe this issue is fixed now in LXPanel GIT sources. You will
get the fix when we release 0.8.1 version - all newer versions will come
to the Debian 'experimental' repository until Debian Jessie is released,
after that point they will come to the 'testing' and 'jessie-backports'.
