You know, we did not wait for young blood to go coding wildly and
implement multi-windows and window splitting and many other fun
things. This was at LyX 1.1 (the first incarnation) time.

And then we saw that we coded so many nice things that the program was
severely broken

Is it broken now?

and we scraped everything to go back to 1.0.4 code
base.

Maybe because it was too unstable and those feature were not implemented properly?

And then we decided it might be a good idea to have some idea of were
we are going and to enforce plans for releases and mundane things like
that.

Man, I achieved the multi-windows thing by first cleaning up thoroughly the core. I made sure that the separation between between the frontend and the core was clean before implementing any feature. The multi-window feature is just sugar, it came mostly for free after my hard-work. So, I repeat my question, what is the problem?

Sorry but I really don't understand why you complain. If anything, I would expect acknowledgement of my hard work instead of complaint.

It's my turn to feel depressed now :-(

Abdel.
