Google Maps, from what I'm told, provides walking and public transit directions. If that's the case, it should work quite well for VO users, given that the Google Maps app is supposed to be accessible.
If it is not sufficient, Google Maps functionality is available to iPhone developers, so someone will doubtless get this working at some point.
