Hello David,

Have you looked in the Edit menu under Spelling and Grammar? There are several 
options you can choose from.

Also, in Verbosity, you can choose to have VO say nothing or make a sound.

For most purposes, I have VO set to make a sound, but in Mail, I have Verbosity 
set to Low, and spelling turned off. I've also got rid of most other extraneous 
information and created a Mail activity.
