I have MC version 4.5.55 from RedHat linux 7.3 distribution.
When I download a large file from FTP (F9->FTP link, and so on), it shows in progress
above command line percent count bad.
It looks like a overflow of the percent counter.
Try for example kernel-source from
ftp://ftp.fi.muni.cz/pub/linux/redhat/linux/7.3/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS
