Follow-up Comment #9, bug #13146 (project mc):
i considered making all whitespace visible, but somehow found it pointless
and even counterproductive for my use cases.
for linefeeds, i really see no use case ...
regarding the use of special characters, this is not doable without utter
hackery. mc is restricted to the abstract char set provided by ncurses/slang,
which unfortunately does not provide these chars.
