| the more corners you cut, the cheaper the unit can be made. This would
| also explain why non-Sony portables like the ES facility. Heheheh ;-P
Personally, I prefer having a separate line out jack, so that I do not have
to manually adjust the unit -- yes, volume control and bass boost do affect
the 702's "line out" signal.
On the other hand, if a top-notch line out signal were a requirement for
me, I would probably be working with higher end components, not consumer
grade portable gear.
