I have the Kenwood DMC-K7R and it's actually the clone of the Sharp 722/1 series recorder. It's a very nice unit with large buttons compared to the newer recorders such as the Sharp MT-831 or Sharp MT-821. The procedure you mentioned there is for copying the names on one MD to another MD with the same number of tracks and is not a TOC cloning procedure so I wouldn't bother trying it.
