Using Altavista's babblefish:

Sony presented a Camcorder, which records on a MiniDisc. It does not
concern however the medium, but around the MiniDisc 2, common for the
audio recording, a MO medium with same dimensions, which however with a
red laser (650 Nm) operates and thus the past capacity on 650 MB
quadrupled.
One records with MPEG-2-Kompression and a data rate of 8 Mbit/s. The mini
Camcorder has a size, which for instance the cigarette boxes put side by
side of two corresponds, comparably thus with very small Data processing
Camcordern, is however somewhat flatter and offers a video quality, which
not near-been enough to those the data processing recording, which can
however quite compete with Hi8. The video MiniDisc offers workstation for
scarcely 20 minutes video, which can be shown on the swinging out LCD.

Beyond that the Camcorder offers also to editing functions. In addition no
additional device is needed. In the editing mode that becomes in each case
first picture of the aufgenom
