The MDS-E11 will allow you to overwrite existing tracks, both using the front
panel controls & the RS-232 or parallel remote. Track numbers are unchanged.
You use the AMS dial (command) to select the correct track, but press RECORD
instead of PLAY.
The MDS-E11 will warn you with an "overwrite!" message in the display. If you
begin recording (press PLAY / PAUSE) the unit will overwrite. You will get
remote confirmation because you get a TRACK CHANGE message on the serial port
when you do this.
